Registered Nurse (RN) - Days Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Ensuring quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care is paramount. The RN demonstrates performance aligned with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization, treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records initial assessments and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Re-assesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
• Develops and implements measurable individualized plans of care within established timeframes.
• Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on patient outcomes and modifies care plans accordingly.
• Participates in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Implements and documents timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Performs various Point of Care testing procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current RN license in New Mexico or compact state license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification from the AHA required.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served.
• Knowledgeable and sensitive to patient rights in the delivery of care.

Schedule

This position is a day shift with a schedule of 5 days a week, 8 hours per day, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
