Job Description
The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care based on the age and specific needs of the patient population served in the assigned units. The RN ensures that quality care is delivered in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with staff, physicians, patients, and families while demonstrating professionalism and respect.
Responsibilities
- Obtains and records initial assessments, establishing care priorities based on patient age and needs.
- Reassesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
- Develops and implements measurable individualized plans of care within established timeframes.
- Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on evaluations of patient outcomes.
- Participates in health education and discharge planning for patients and their families.
- Implements and documents timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Performs various Point of Care testing procedures as needed.
- Coordinates unit work assignments and adapts to changing patient and unit needs.
- Promotes a positive work environment and collaborates with team members to achieve unit goals.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
- Current RN License in the state of employment or compact.
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
