Progressive Care Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. Please note that there is no guarantee of hours and no call required.

Job Description

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing primary nursing care in a 15-bed unit that includes a 3-bed step-down ICU and 12 telemetry beds. The role involves telemetry monitoring, strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar checks using Meditech charting and Pyxis for medication management.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care environment.
• Monitor telemetry readings and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Float to other acute units as necessary including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of acute care experience in a hospital setting within the last year is required.
• Experience in progressive care and telemetry preferred.
• Must possess an active State of Hawaii RN license by the start of the assignment.
• ACLS certification preferred; PALS certification preferred; NIHSS certification preferred.
