Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position for the night shift, following a 3x12.0 schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while actively embracing the core values of the organization, which prioritize superior quality of care and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and documentation for team conferences.
• Participate and ensure accountability for direct patient care using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient education in anticipation of discharge.
• Effectively communicate changes in patient status to facilitate continuity of care.
• Provide guidance and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation and prioritization of tasks.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment according to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to team dynamics and create a supportive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as required.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification is required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification is required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• PCU experience is required.
• Charge Nurse experience is required.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.
