Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a night shift position with a 3x12.0 schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while fostering a culture of safety and effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences, ensuring accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and start patient education early.
• Communicate changes in patient status to all relevant care providers to maintain continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning, fostering teamwork and a supportive environment.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and training.
• Assume charge responsibilities when requested following the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development actively through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
