Inpatient Oncology RN (Nights)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00), weekdays, and every other weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Oncology RN to provide exceptional care in a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit. The successful candidate will be involved in administering chemotherapy and managing patient care for oncology and med/surg overflow patients.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage associated patient care.
• Monitor and assess patients, recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including IV fluids and blood products.
• Manage ports and central lines, including care and troubleshooting.
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience required.
• Current RN license in WV or a Compact state.
• Cherished certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• ONS chemotherapy and biotherapy certification preferred.
• Experience with IV starts and managing patient ratios of 1:5-6.
