Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN)

Job Description

Med/Surg Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Administering medications, educating patients on surgical procedures, and monitoring patient vitals are also crucial aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and record all necessary information.
• Educate patients about surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action in response to adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery individuals.
• Perform patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Participate in discharge planning and utilize effective time management skills.
• Record all care information accurately and concisely in a timely manner.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold an active Wyoming RN or multi-state RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required (must be through the American Heart Association).
• Previous experience in a community hospital setting preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift from 19:00 to 07:00.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
