Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Night Shift: 3x12 Hours (18:45 - 07:15)

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery unit is fast-paced and requires nurses to handle a variety of challenging scenarios, with an average of 20 births per 24 hours. This unit supports obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, providing intrapartum and high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. Nurses will be responsible for circulating in the operating room and performing sterile vaginal exams, alongside competent newborn care.

Responsibilities

• Handle double labor assignments in a high-acuity setting.
• Provide care during scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and cervical cerclage procedures.
• Perform antenatal fetal surveillance and other routine outpatient procedures.
• Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio while managing high volumes and acuity levels.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience, with a preference for 3 years in high-volume labor and delivery settings.
• Current RN license.
• Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP; C-EFM will be accepted in lieu of AWHONN certification.
