Medical Laboratory Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist

Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (requires an every other weekend rotation).

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist will work in a busy clinical laboratory setting, responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures, particularly in microbiology. The successful candidate will handle a variety of complex specimens and will be expected to transition quickly into the fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests with strong emphasis on microbiology.
• Manage complex samples including turbid specimens, platelet clumps, and abnormal cell findings.
• Utilize Sysmex and CellaVision systems effectively.
• Ensure accurate performance of differentials in neonatal units.
• Collaborate within a high-volume laboratory of over 600 beds.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the clinical laboratory specialty.
• Valid certification from ASCP, AMT, or AAB.
• Strong experience in microbiology.
• Experience with Cerner electronic record systems.
• Experience working in a large hospital laboratory setting.
