Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend, and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care for patients in a cardiac telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac patient care, including congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias, along with secondary experience in respiratory issues such as COPD and pneumonia.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess cardiac patients, responding swiftly to changes in patient conditions.
• Provide patient education regarding cardiac and respiratory health.
• Administer medications and manage life-saving interventions as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and charting through the Epic system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a cardiac telemetry unit.
• Current RN license is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and proficiency in EKG interpretation.
• Familiarity with managing BiPAP/CPAP, IV insulin protocols, and blood product administration.
