Staff RN - Days

Job Description

The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. The Staff RN will accept responsibility for the direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process.
• Provide quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway.
• Educate patients and families/significant others from admission through the discharge process.
• Document the nursing process/pathway thoroughly, concisely, accurately, and legibly.
• Notify physicians of pertinent observations and changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and perform treatments accurately and safely.
• Implement physician orders as written.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care and report malfunctions to the appropriate department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of an accredited nursing program leading to a Diploma, Associate degree (ADN), or Bachelor’s degree (BSN) in Nursing.
• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Previous Registered Nursing experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to problem-solve and handle multiple priorities.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills and the ability to make independent decisions.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
