Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction. This role involves delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. The therapist ensures the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate an effective return to community activities, while also serving as an educator to patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
• Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans focused on progressing patients towards discharge within an established length of stay.
• Document medical records clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner in compliance with state, federal, and clinic guidelines.
• Administer care under signed, valid physician orders.
• Participate in student programs, providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing evaluations.
• Create an individualized professional development plan with clinical management to enhance skills and competencies.
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
• Understand organizational performance improvement methodologies to enhance the quality of services provided.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Active and valid physical therapist license for the state where work will be performed.
