Registered Nurse - Critical Care and Emergency Department (Night Shift)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift with 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), rotating between acute and LTC care with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the critical care and emergency department settings. The role involves managing patients with complex diagnoses, including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure. The RN will perform specialized procedures and utilize advanced equipment to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients' health status.
• Manage ventilator settings and perform ABG sampling.
• Provide pulmonary hygiene and respiratory treatments.
• Assist in intubation and extubation processes.
• Implement oxygen therapy and respond to high pressure alarms.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in New York.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care and emergency nursing.
• BLS, RRT, and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Prior experience in LTAC and trauma settings is a plus.
