Registered Nurse - High Acuity Surgical Trauma

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week. Must be willing to work the required shifts with no block schedules.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a high acuity floor specializing in Surgical Trauma. The nurse will provide care to a diverse patient population including surgical patients, gunshot victims, quadriplegics, and paraplegics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of patient care on a surgical trauma unit.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries.
• Participate in nurse handoffs during admissions and transitions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high acuity nursing specialty.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system is required.
