MedSurg RN - Day Shift (4x12 Hour)

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a MedSurg RN with a day shift schedule. The MedSurg unit has a staffing plan that supports a patient ratio of 1:6 under normal circumstances, but may flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences. The position requires working every other weekend and may involve floating between units as needed. Candidates with at least 2 years of experience are preferred, but first-time travelers are accepted. Mandatory certifications include BLS, with ACLS and NIHSS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a MedSurg setting.
• Monitor patient vitals and manage medications, including insulin administration.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize Epic for patient charting and documentation.
• Participate in rapid response situations as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active South Carolina RN license or Compact license required prior to start.
• 2 years of MedSurg experience preferred.
• Required certifications: BLS; ACLS, NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system.

Schedule

The position involves four 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
