Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This position requires night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing comprehensive obstetrical care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases to Labor and Delivery patients. The RN will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership are essential in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with prior travel experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring certifications are required.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
• Navy scrubs are expected as part of the uniform.
