Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care of the patient in the Emergency Department; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; and delegates patient care priorities consistent with the education and experience of the staff available. The nurse provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency patients.
• Utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care.
• Plan and anticipate needs for safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate care priorities to staff based on their education and experience.
• Supervise and direct personnel involved in patient care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• AZ Nursing License required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred (additional compensation offered).

Schedule

This is a night shift position: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. The role offers a 36-hour work week.
