Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician performs assigned analysis and reports results according to the procedures and regulations of the department. This role involves maintaining quality control and keeping equipment in accordance with instructions and schedules. The technician will correlate laboratory results with clinical findings through chart review and consultation with nursing and medical staff, in addition to performing receptionist and phlebotomist tasks. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis and report results accurately.
• Maintain quality control standards and procedures.
• Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Correlate laboratory results with clinical findings.
• Consult with nursing and medical staff regarding laboratory findings.
• Perform receptionist and phlebotomist tasks as needed.
• Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations regarding healthcare provision.

Schedule

This is a 3x12-hour shift position, scheduled for evenings/nights.
