Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education, delegating patient care priorities, and providing direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective care to Emergency Room patients.
• Utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff expertise.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing role.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Active Registered Nurse license in Arizona.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM on a 3x12 schedule. Flexibility to float as needed is required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
