Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures while providing support for other imaging technologists as needed. This role is essential in facilitating smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist is expected to demonstrate flexibility by working shifts and/or at other campuses as needed. Additionally, troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in quality assurance, and resolving issues related to image processing and the image archiving system are key responsibilities. Ongoing education and adherence to accepted imaging competencies are crucial, with a focus on safety and technical advancements within their scope of licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all imaging duties with adherence to radiation safety protocols.
  • Maintain completed exams in the PACS system, ensuring proper scanning and storage.
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions effectively.
  • Participate in ongoing education and maintain expected imaging competencies.
  • Provide exceptional assistance to radiologists and referring physicians to ensure high levels of physician satisfaction.
  • Adapt patient assessment and care methods to accommodate individual patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required.
  • State licensure required (Texas: MRT by TMB).
  • BLS certification (AHA only) required.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule from 7 AM to 5 PM. On-call and weekend availability is required.
