Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for the delivery of respiratory therapy and patient care according to physician's orders, hospital policies and procedures, and departmental standards of care. This position requires a commitment to high standards of practice and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic pulmonary and cardiovascular procedures.
• Evaluate patient/resident responses to respiratory therapy and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide education to patients and staff regarding respiratory procedures, equipment operation, and safety precautions.
• Conduct routine maintenance and service checks on respiratory therapy equipment.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to the work performed.

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM and guarantees 36 hours per week.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Required
• Training in ventilator management, BiPAP, ICU, ER, and ABG - Required
• ACLS certification - Preferred
• BLS certification - Required
• State licensure in Michigan - Required
