Registered Nurse - Hematology Oncology

This position requires 12-hour night shifts, working from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

Join our team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Hematology Oncology. You will work in a dynamic environment, providing care for patients with hematological and oncological conditions. The successful candidate will have significant experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting, displaying strong time management skills and a commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a Hematology Oncology unit.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage care for high acuity patients.
• Monitor patient vital signs and responses, including titration of ordered drips.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC system.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new staff members as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Level 1 or large hospital (500+ beds).
• EPIC proficiency is required; no on-site training will be provided.
• BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS is required for Charge RNs.
• Experience with intravenous lines, chest tubes, and oncology nursing is preferred.
• Recent travel assignment experience is highly preferred.
• Flu vaccine is required by November 15, with medical exemptions considered.
