Operating Room Nurse

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of patients in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works closely with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Technicians, and other personnel to provide high-quality patient care according to state practice acts, AORN, regulatory standards, and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and efficient surgical care.
• Communicate effectively with families and surgical team members.
• Update physician preference cards as necessary.
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical procedures.
• Supervise personnel delivering patient care in the operating room.
• Manage supplies and other resources to optimize surgical outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a current TX or compact RN license.
• Must possess BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years of travel experience required.
• On-call responsibilities may be included.

Schedule

This position follows a 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
