Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

This is a rotating shift position with schedules of 3x12 hour shifts, including holidays, on-call, callback, and weekends as needed.

Job Description

We are looking for a Registered Nurse for our busy Adult Emergency Department (ED), which manages over 100,000 patient visits annually and is recognized as one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. As the only Level I trauma hospital in the area, the ED caters to a diverse patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses. This role specifically focuses on the care of med/surg boarder patients within the ED, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 supported by assistive personnel. No prior emergency department experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to med/surg boarder patients in the emergency department.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient management.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond accordingly.
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN License (only NY Licenses are accepted).
• Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification highly desired but not required.
