Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant is dedicated to delivering superior quality care while embracing the core values of teamwork, resourcefulness, and patient safety. This position assists in implementing treatment plans designed by a licensed Physical Therapist, focusing on maximizing the patient's recovery and life skills.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment goals and therapeutic interventions as established by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist with posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, balance and coordination exercises, functional skills training, and community re-entry training.
- Train patients in locomotion using various assistive devices.
- Demonstrate the use of therapeutic modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and more.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene when necessary.
- Document patient progress and educate patients and families on care techniques.
- Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment.
- Participate in team conferences and contribute to special projects aimed at improving patient care quality.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an Accredited School (Required)
- CAPTE Certified (Required)
- 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience (Required)
- CPR Certification (Required)
- Active applicable state license (Required)
- Experience in outpatient orthopedic settings (Required)
