Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and guides patient/family teaching while maintaining professional nursing standards in the emergency department. He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective patient care in the emergency department.
• Perform assessments and implement care plans based on patient needs.
• Direct and guide nursing personnel and patient/family education.
• Monitor and communicate patients' clinical conditions to physicians.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and reporting of abuse cases.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Schedule

This is a 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM shift.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (AHA or Red Cross certified).
• Minimum of one year experience as an RN in an acute care hospital setting, preferably in the emergency room.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
