Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing patient care through the nursing process, in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. The role demands critical thinking, scientific judgment, and strong leadership in ensuring safe and effective patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to administer care in the Emergency Department.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and effectively communicate findings.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Delegate patient care priorities, ensuring the safety and quality of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required.
• NRP certification preferred.
• Must have RN license valid in New Mexico; fingerprint clearance required.
