Job Description

The role involves working in a 14-bed overflow unit designed to accommodate ED boarder patients on a med/surg tele unit. Registered Nurses (RNs) will provide high-quality patient care while demonstrating strong competencies in phlebotomy and IV placement, both of which are required skills for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, manage rapid response and code situations
• Administer oxygen and manage peripheral line care
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placements as necessary
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
• Adapt to changing patient volumes based on overflow needs

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year experience required
• BLS certification is mandatory
• Epic charting system experience is required
• New York RN license required in hand to submit
