Physical Therapist

Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to the patient’s needs and physician direction. This role includes the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs to facilitate effective returns to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves, while also performing other professional duties associated with patient care and the development of discipline-specific therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
• Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals aimed at progressing patients towards discharge within an established length of stay.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address barriers to discharge, including timely equipment trials and family training.
• Effectively manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions based on patient care needs.
• Document medical records timely and accurately, including daily documentation, goal writing, and discharge documentation.
• Participate in student programs by providing supervision and developing learning objectives.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and involvement in professional activities.
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and maintain licensure in good standing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid State licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.

Schedule

This position offers approximately 8-24 hours per week with a Day shift schedule.
