CT/X-Ray Technologist

Job Description

The CT/X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by radiologist governing and professional bodies.

Responsibilities

• Produce emergent and routine diagnostic images with fixed and portable X-ray.
• Produce routine and emergent diagnostic images with the CT Room.
• Able to adjust exposure settings for proper image acquisition.
• Adjust patient positioning to acquire the best images based on anatomical structures.
• Adjust table and radiation beam to minimize radiation exposure for maximum patient protection (ALARA).
• Process images in PACS for the Radiologist.
• Complete exams per Radiologist protocols.
• Document, charge, and process with electronic medical records.
• Schedule patients for appointments in X-ray, CT, MRI, US, DXA, and Holter Monitor.
• Inform and assist patients with contrast media administration for CT exams.
• Involved in quality control concerning equipment, radiation safety, and patient safety.
• Ensure exams are completed in a timely and correct manner.
• Provide customer service to patients and staff.

Schedule

4-10 hours per day M-F; 40 hours per week with rotation of weekends and call.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Required Credential: R.T.(R)(ARRT)
• Preferred Experience: 1 year of experience working as a CT technologist.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrates skills and behaviors indicative of an adequate working knowledge of and clinical proficiency in radiographic procedures, principles of radiation physics, and human anatomy and physiology.
