Remote Utilization Review Registered Nurse

Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM.

Job Description

The Remote Utilization Review Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing utilization review and care management activities, ensuring medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, and assisting with concurrent and retrospective reviews. The role demands proficiency in Epic and requires the ability to manage multiple facilities with flexibility and adherence to labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform utilization review processes in a hospital setting.
• Utilize InterQual and Milliman guidelines for assessment.
• Coordinate care and support discharge planning.
• Conduct audits and ensure compliance with CMS regulations.
• Review and process prior authorizations and concurrent reviews.
• Support interdisciplinary teams and communicate care coordination needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in acute care utilization review.
• Current RN license required.
• Proficient in Epic with recent experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare regulations and utilization management processes.
• Ability to work weekends and commit to holiday shifts.
