This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Days, 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient. The RN provides interventions to treat the presenting symptoms and evaluates the effect of nursing interventions and patient's responses. The RN functions as a team leader/member and resource to others, delegating, overseeing, and providing direction to support staff while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to establish goals and outcomes for each patient.
Responsibilities
- Regularly assesses patients' needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician’s plan of care and accepted standards of evidence-based nursing practice.
- Provides direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, education, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, and managing alarms.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the treatment plan and collaborates with team members to update/revise the plan as necessary.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as hospital-specific policies and procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role - Required
- Neuro PCU experience - Required
- Recent travel work history - Highly preferred
- Active Michigan RN License - Required
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification - Required
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification - Required
- Active NIHSS Certification - Required
- Skills checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (PCU) - Required
- Complete 2 supervisory reference forms within the last two years - Required
