Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the Clinical Specialist, the Manager, and the Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. This role involves utilizing specific modality skills to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience. The technologist will support teaching and continue learning as the technology advances.

In addition to trauma and emergency room scanning, the CT Technologist will perform exams on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and those receiving intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures. The technologist is responsible for practicing and enforcing radiation safety measures as per New York State Department of Health code part 16.

Schedule

Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM (No on-call responsibility)

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and a high school graduate.
• New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit to practice in New York.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Entry-level experience; Limited or no experience accepted; MIT Level assigned based on skill set and experience.
