This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Monday: 8 AM - 7 PM
Tuesday: 8 AM - 12 PM
Wednesday: 8 AM - 7 PM
Thursday: 8 AM - 5 PM
Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM
Job Description
The Outpatient Hand Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to each patient's needs, goals, and physician direction. Responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, the therapist ensures the design of functional treatment programs that allow for effective return to community activities and serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers. This role emphasizes compliance with safety standards and organizational values.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensively evaluate assigned patients.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge.
- Document medical records clearly, concisely, accurately, and within required timeframes.
- Participate in student programs by providing a positive learning environment.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- Adhere to state practice acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
- Contribute to organizational performance improvement initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must have hand experience and be comfortable making splints.
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 6 months to 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable licensure for the state in which the work will be performed.
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred.
