Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Job Description
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. Utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing data and planning, providing, and evaluating care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. This role ensures quality nursing services are delivered by themselves or others under their direction.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate the nursing care needs of patients.
- Plan and implement nursing interventions in alignment with professional standards.
- Document nursing care and patient progress comprehensively.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care.
- Accountable for the quality of care delivered by self or directed staff.
Schedule
This position is full-time, with shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, guaranteeing 36 hours per week. An on-call schedule will be determined by the facility.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2+ years of recent high-volume Labor & Delivery experience (required).
- Must be willing to obtain Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification within 48 hours if offered.
- Must be willing to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within 48 hours if offered.
- Active RN license in Maryland required.
- Active American Heart Association ACLS certification required.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Active Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification required.
- Active NIH Stroke Scale/Score (NIHSS) certification required.
- COVID vaccination required; declinations not accepted.
- 1 supervisory reference from the last 6 months required.
- 1 supervisory reference from the last 12 months required.
- Resume required with clear explanations for any gaps over 30 days.
- Skills checklist specific to Labor & Delivery required.
