Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
36-hour shifts, Days, 7:00 am - 7:30 pm every other weekend and holiday, Monday - Sunday schedule.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide patient care based on standards of care, protocols, and established policies. The role emphasizes respect for each patient as an individual, promoting dignity and positive self-regard in care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient/family education based on identified learning needs.
- Collaboratively plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems.
- Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others appropriately.
- Prioritize patient care effectively and seek assistance as needed.
- Document all pertinent data and patient responses according to established standards.
- Conduct thorough and timely reports on assigned patients to other healthcare team members.
- Identify risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce errors in healthcare delivery.
- Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy according to physician orders.
- Assess and reassess patient pain levels, and document findings and responses to interventions.
- Interpret and document cardiac rhythms, initiating appropriate treatments as necessary.
- Participate in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for comprehensive patient care planning.
- Recognize normal and abnormal laboratory and diagnostic results, notifying physicians as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current MA RN License.
- ACLS upon hire, or active BLS card with AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire.
- 1 year of med-surge experience preferred, with telemetry experience also preferred.
