NICU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts include 3x12 variable shifts, primarily days with some night coverage. Weekend coverage is required every other week.

Job Description

The NICU Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates, including those with complex medical needs. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer care to neonates, addressing various conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), sepsis, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS).
• Perform routine assessments and interventions tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and provide support to families.
• Manage IV therapies and administer medications as prescribed.
• Float to postpartum and pediatric units as needed, providing care for stable couplets and feeder/grower infants.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications are required.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 3:1.
• Familiarity with the EPIC charting system is preferred.
