Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift | 13-week Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, ensuring the highest standards of patient care are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Conducts nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develops individualized care plans.
• Identifies teaching needs and collaborates with patients and families to set goals related to their diagnosis.
• Communicates patient information and status during Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Participates actively in the patient rehabilitation program and utilizes the nursing process to ensure effective care delivery.
• Initiates discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Provides direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Ensures safety in personal and environmental aspects of patient care.
• Maintains effective communication with management regarding patient care needs and supplies.
• Assumes charge responsibilities as required and actively pursues professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (for specific locations only).
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.

Schedule

This position is for day shifts on a 3x12.0 schedule.
