Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, and will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team while prioritizing patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, prioritizing education based on identified needs.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while prioritizing safety and effective teamwork.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through calm direction and reassurance to staff and patients.
- Assume charge responsibility as needed after orientation.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift for specific facilities.
