Charge Nurse - Med/Surg/Telemetry RN

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00). Must work 6 weekend shifts per schedule period.

Job Description

The Charge Nurse will provide care for patients ranging from 1 month of age through end of life, functioning as a fully independent staff nurse with a standard patient ratio of 1:6. Responsibilities include assuming Charge Nurse duties as needed, demonstrating broad clinical competency, and ensuring optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a Med/Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Manage patient assignments according to staff ratios.
• Assist with charge nurse duties, overseeing unit operations as needed.
• Perform assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Previous charge experience required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
