Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Schedule

Mid-shift, 12-hour schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking a competent Registered Nurse (RN) for our Emergency Department. The successful candidate will practice independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. You will be responsible for managing contingencies of clinical nursing and making appropriate assignments to other care providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols and monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care received.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required (AHA only).
• Must hold a valid RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state.
