Job Description

The Registered Nurse will collaborate with physicians to establish a comprehensive plan of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health. The RN will provide bedside nursing care, implement medical orders, and oversee the functions of Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and other support staff. This position involves evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the nursing team by integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments.
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences and care planning.
• Assess and fulfill ongoing and discharge teaching needs of patients.
• Pursue professional growth through educational opportunities.
• Mentor and guide new employees and nursing students.
• Function as a team leader for patient assignments and proper placement.
• Communicate relevant information effectively with patients and team members.
• Exhibit organizational skills through effective planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience - Required
• Comfortable with floating to the ED and step-down units - Required
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications - Required
• TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN certifications - Preferred
• Travel nursing experience - Preferred
• Neurological surgical experience - Preferred
• Open heart surgery experience - Preferred
• Current Michigan RN License - Required
