Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery Unit is responsible for providing comprehensive care for laboring patients, postpartum individuals, and newborns. This role involves triage, performing non-stress tests (NSTs), acting as a second nurse, and managing overflow cases. Our busy department is dedicated to delivering excellent care to women and their newborns after childbirth, including those who may experience complications with their pregnancies or birthing processes. Collaboration with other professional disciplines is essential to ensure high-quality patient care throughout the childbirth and postpartum periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for laboring patients, including monitoring and support during the labor process.
• Manage postpartum care for mothers and their newborns.
• Conduct triage and non-stress tests (NSTs) as required.
• Act as a second nurse during high-need situations to ensure all patients receive adequate care.
• Assist with overflow cases, maintaining responsive and effective patient care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address complications during pregnancy and delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates should possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and have relevant experience in labor and delivery nursing.
