Cath Lab Registered Nurse Position

Job Description

The Cath Lab is an inpatient and outpatient procedural lab focusing on mechanical and electrical diagnosis and intervention for cardiac patients. This role will involve caring for both adult and pediatric patients with a diverse range of conditions as part of a comprehensive program that includes pre- and post-procedural care. The practice model emphasizes collaborative efforts between RN staff and CVT professionals to achieve excellent patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Cath lab and EP lab settings.
• Execute cardiac interventions and manage patients requiring mechanical circulatory support.
• Administer moderate sedation and monitor patient responses during procedures.
• Collaborate closely with cardiovascular technicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Support patients through pre- and post-procedural care and education.

Schedule

Candidates should prefer a schedule of 36 hours per week, with options for 4x10 or 3x12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• Moderate sedation training and telemetry competency.
• RN License (New York State only).
• Experience with TAVR, Microclip, Watchmen, right and left heart hemodynamics, CTO, PCI, pericardiocentesis, and vascular interventions.
• Mechanical Circulatory Support experience with ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo, and LVAD.
• Critical care or cardiac experience is required.

Nice to Have

• Cardiovascular certification or RCES preferred.
• Familiarity with device and ablation procedures and equipment.
• EP Lab experience.
