Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, leading to individualized plans of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for each patient based on nursing assessments and collaborate with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure continuity of care by communicating pertinent information regarding changes in patient status.
• Initiate discharge planning from admission and ensure timely patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, offering direction and support to enhance unit functioning.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and contribute to a positive work environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired

Schedule

This position requires a night shift, 3x12 hours per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
