Radiologic Technologist I

This position requires a shift from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each. Mandatory on-call duties, as well as work on every third weekend and holidays as needed, are also expected.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. This role includes performing essential generic job functions outlined below.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs, and operating equipment as required for specific procedures.
• Restrict radiation beams and perform portable x-ray examinations in various locations, including patient rooms and emergency rooms.
• Develop exposed x-ray films using appropriate processing methods.
• Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians with administration to patients.
• Maintain orderly x-ray rooms and perform administrative duties related to patient scheduling and record-keeping.
• Deliver care specific to the patient population served, ensuring effective communication with patients, parents, and caregivers.
• Lift, push, pull, and stand as necessary to perform duties, including assisting patients as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess an active New Jersey State License and have updated credentials with no pending applications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an acute care facility.
• Experience in emergency rooms and operating rooms is required; pediatric experience is preferred.
• Completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and meeting A.R.R.T. requirements.
