Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized care for patients requiring close monitoring and interventions. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care with a focus on teamwork and compassionate service.

Responsibilities

• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2 hour rounding on nights to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Utilize AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) to enhance patient experience.
• Administer medications and IV therapies, including cardiac and insulin drips.
• Monitor patients using equipment such as bipaps, high flow oxygen, and cardiac drips.
• Document patient care activities in Meditech to maintain accurate medical records.
• Assure proper care and maintenance of therapeutic equipment, including wound vacs.
• Assist with procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, and central line dressing changes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience in critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation.
• Proficient in administering cardiac and insulin drips, as well as peritoneal dialysis experience preferred.
• Experience with NG/dobhoff tube insertions and tube feedings.
