Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Schedule

Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Care Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct nursing care for both general medical and surgical patients, including those undergoing short stay procedures, orthopedic care, and stroke management. The RN will also care for telemetry-monitored patients within a 30-bed unit. Core responsibilities include EKG, IV insertion, medication administration, Foley insertion, vital signs monitoring, assessment documentation, assistance with respiratory support interventions, and conducting point-of-care testing (such as blood glucose).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting vital signs and care.
• Perform technical skills, including EKGs, IV therapy, and Foley catheter insertion.
• Administer medications and manage overall patient care plans.
• Assist with procedures and conduct point-of-care testing as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1-2+ years of Medical Surgical nursing experience required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
• ALCS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is required.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification is required.
