Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Unit

This position requires a 12-hour day shift starting at 0700.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) is a high-acuity nursing unit providing medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care to patients with complex cardiac conditions. Our unit features 30 beds dedicated to patients who require a higher level of nursing care compared to general patient care units. The patient demographic spans from young adults to geriatric patients. Typical conditions treated include, but are not limited to:

• Cardiac diagnoses
• Pre/Post cardiac artery bypass surgery
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Post pacemaker insertion
• Arrhythmia detection
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Pneumonia and other related disease processes

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care, monitor patient status, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Please note that the patient-to-nurse ratio shall not exceed 1:4, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for specialized care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current California RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• EPIC charting experience
• Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care experience
• Successful completion of prior traveler assignments
