Surgical Technologist

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with rotating call and a 30-minute response time.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Working under the supervision of the RN, you will ensure surgeons and the surgical team have everything they need for successful procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support the RN and surgical team by assisting with limited direct patient care.
• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
• Ensure a sterile field is properly set up, maintained, and protected throughout the procedure.
• Clean, prepare, and package instruments for disinfection and sterilization.
• Assist with room turnover between cases, including cleaning and preparing the environment for the next patient.
• Uphold patient safety standards and maintain required clinical competencies based on scope and training.
• Adhere to AORN Recommended Practices and departmental policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate responsibility in time management, resource use, and supply handling.
• Participate as a collaborative and supportive team member.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred, along with relevant experience in a surgical setting.
